🔁 Convert AVIF to JPG

AVIF is very efficient but not yet supported everywhere. JPG guarantees compatibility. It all happens in your browser, so your images stay private.

About these formats

About AVIF. AVIF is one of the most efficient image formats, often noticeably smaller than WebP or JPG at the same visual quality, with transparency support. Support is good in current browsers but not yet universal across older devices and apps.

About JPG. JPG (JPEG) is a lossy format tuned for photographs. It produces small files and opens on practically every device and app ever made, but it cannot store transparency and re-saving repeatedly slowly degrades quality.

Going from AVIF (lossy or lossless raster) to JPG (lossy raster) means any transparent areas are flattened onto a solid background, since JPG cannot store transparency.

When to keep the original instead. Keep the original AVIF if the image has a transparent background you want to preserve, because JPG will fill that transparency with a solid colour.
